The sale of this insurance product occurred in September 1997; the written complaint was received some 25 years after the product was purchased, there having been no changes to the policy features during that entire period. The complaint was formally withdrawn by the trustee, who is the son of the husband and wife who established the trust that owns the policy, within approximately three weeks of its receipt by the Firm. It should be noted that the clients did not involve the son in the many meetings regarding the policy until just prior to the sending of the complaint, although he was trustee of the trust the entire time. After further discussions, the trustee better understood the policy and the reasons for its recommendation to the client
