Permitted to Resign

Allegation that entries in bank's client contact tracking system were not consistent with firm policies related to referring officer and relationship manager credit. Did not involve the purchase or sale of investments, securities or insurance. No customer harm was alleged.

Prior to the merger with BB&T & SunTrust, there weren't any questions regarding internal credit, until my manager's job was in jeopardy. Back at the end of 2019, my boss was being demoted to a Wealth Advisor from his managerial position and he had no book of business or clients. He conducted an internal review in regards to an internal credit I received on an equity line of credit. I partnered with a branch manager to assist me with the equity line of credit that the client requested. The alleged conflict occurred as I was not able to attend the closing due to a scheduling conflict and the branch manager closed the loan. It is common practice within the organization that Wealth Advisors and branch managers assist each other when such scheduling conflicts occur in such matters. My manager was questioning who should receive credit for the equity line of credit. This was an internal credit situation that did not affect the customer in any way or involve an investment sale. I decided with this pending merger that it would be in my best interest to resign.
