I received a letter from Fulton Co. Tax in March 2021 dated from January 2021 with their intent to file a lien against me for $185. I assume the two month lateness of this letter was due to mail delays with the pandemic. I immediately wrote a letter to Fulton Co asking the origins of lien and still to this date have gotten no response to this letter. I have also called Fulton county and the clerk I spoke with also could not identify the reason for the lien once I proved payment via cancelled checks.
I paid my 2020 property taxes in full in December of 2020 with proof of cancelled checks .One check in the amount of $8,976.35 cashed 12/10/20 and one for $3271.69 cashed 12/18/20. In 2021 my mortgage bank, BBT has been notified by Fulton Co. on two separate occasions that I am delinquent on paying property taxes. I have had to show proof twice this year to BBT taxes were paid. I have as of yesterday checked my Transunion credit report and I have no new liens nor judgements reported against me. I am currently investigating where this lien is being reported and the reason for the $185 balance as this is unresolved. I assumed this was cleared up with my letter to Fulton County. I have sent my broker dealer a copy of my documentation and communication with Fulton County.
